The GovLoop Academy Action Plan is a resource to help you create, organize, and track professional and personal goals. With the Action Plan, easily create a personal plan, add goals and tasks, mark tasks as complete as you accomplish them, and share the action plan with mentors and supervisors.

Creating an action plan:

  1. Click on the “Action Plan” button at the top right of the homepage screen.
  2. Click on the “My Action Plan” heading.
  3. Click on the “Edit” button on the bottom right hand corner of the My Action Plan box, and rename the action plan by clicking on the text box. You will see a link for sharing the action plan. Copy and paste the link into a message or click on the “email” button to create an Outlook email. GovLoop recommends sharing action plans with your supervisor, mentors, and colleagues.
  4. After naming the action plan, click “save” at the bottom right hand corner of the My Action Plan box.
  5. Minimize or expand Action Plan details by clicking on the title or blue arrow to the right of the action plan title

Creating Goals:

  1. After creating an action plan, create goals by clicking the “new goal” button below your action plan’s nam
  2. Minimize or expand Goal details by clicking on the title or red arrow to the right of the goal title.
  3. Fill in a name, description, and optional due date and category for the goal.
  4. Create as many goals as you would like, however GovLoop recommend 2-4 per action plan.

Creating Tasks:

  1. Tasks may be housed under a goal or under the action. Create tasks for each goal or under the action plan by clicking the “new task” button at the bottom of either a task or the action plan.
  2. Fill in the task title, and optional website link and due date. Website links can go to event pages, additional resources such as GovLoop guides, etc.
  3. Create as many goals as you would like, however GovLoop recommends 2-4 per action plan.
  4. Minimize or expand task details by clicking on the title or red arrow to the right of the goal title.
  5. Click the white checkbox to the right of the task name when the task has been completed. GovLoop recommends sharing action plans with your supervisor, mentors, and colleagues.

Sharing Action Plans

  1. Email your action plan by clicking the “share” button to the right of your action plan title.
